Question 1

My child is shy. Is karate a good fit?

Accepted Answer

Shyness is not a barrier to starting. That's exactly why every new student begins one-on-one with a certified black belt instructor. Your child learns what to expect, practices the basics and gets comfortable before ever stepping into a group class. Many quiet children simply need preparation, not pressure.

Question 2

What happens during the first private lesson?

Accepted Answer

Your child meets their instructor, learns how class works — bowing in, lining up, listening for instructions — and practices foundational stances and techniques at their own pace. You'll have time to ask questions, and afterward we walk you through our programs and options in person.

Question 3

Are all three trial classes private?

Accepted Answer

No. The first class is a one-on-one introduction. The remaining trial classes let your child experience an age-appropriate group class, now that they know what to expect.

Question 4

Do we have to enroll after the first lesson?

Accepted Answer

No. After the first lesson we explain the programs, pricing and options in person and answer your questions. Many families choose to enroll then. Families who want more time can use their remaining trial classes before deciding.
