Karate is a martial art system of self-defense that originated hundreds of years. Literally, the term karate means “empty hand,” referring to the fact that its practitioners use no weapons to attack and defend, but only the hands, feet, and body. Karate combines smooth flowing, evasive movements with sudden kicks and strikes. Traditional karate consists of many basic stances, blocks, punches, and kicks. When you begin to master these basics, we will help you blend in together more complex combinations with strategy and tactics, and a more contemporary freestyle form. Emphasis is placed on power, both physical and mental. Through hard training and practice, karate will not only develop your body, but also your mind and character, as you learn real life strategies to defend yourself and loved ones from attack.
